It is a common and proven fact that only through proper diet and exercise can you lose weight safely and effectively. Although some may tell you otherwise, these two work in tandem to help you lose weight. It is like a balancing act that you have to implement in order to lose weight – one is equally important as the other.

However, there are rules to follow in order to effectively organize your priorities between nutrition and exercise. If you are just beginning on a program to lose weight it is better to concentrate on your diet first. It does not mean that you have to ignore your exercises but you just have to give a little more attention to your nutrition. As your body adjusts to the new diet and you become adept in the ins and outs of diet. You can then step up your fitness program and pay more attention to your exercise.

You will be surprised how eating 6 small meals each day will keep you fit compared to eating 3 whole meals. Every time you eat, your body kicks into gear and engages your metabolism to burn fat. As long as you are burning more than what you are eating this is a perfectly good practice to lose weight.

Exercising is vain without giving your self proper nutrition and vice versa. It is like purchasing shoes, you cannot just buy the left part or the right part, you have to have the two.
