How to Not Quit Exercise and Diet

There are two kinds of people that you will find when you enter a fitness gym - the beginners and the experts. Beginners are the ones that recently joined the gym and the experts range from fitness instructors up to the ones that had been a members of the gym for a couple of years. Among the beginners, you can likely also make a guess who will stay in their program and who, after just a couple of sessions, will quit.

Just what distinguishes between those who persevere at their fitness program with those who quit after just feeling a little discouragement? Is there any way to encourage a quitter to stay on the program? And what makes those successfully reach their fitness goals despite the hardships, trials and challenges?

People who quit earlier when faced with a challenge are those who treat failure as simply failure. They do not recognize that there is also learning in failure and that it is only after committing a thousand mistakes will they be able to do something closer to perfection. The mindset of a quitter is, “this is impossible”, “I can not do this anymore”, and “my body is too weak for this”.

Quitters tend to see failure as a negative thing and nothing else. To avoid embarrassment, they simply quit and never step on a gym again. After quitting, they instead justify their being overweight & underweight and say to themselves that diet never works for them or their body simply does not respond to exercise.

Alternatively, those who are successful in completing their fitness program and achieving their goals despite all the odds, challenges and downs are the type of people who often tell themselves, “I can prove to everybody that I can do this”, “I will try harder again next time”, and “This is possible.”

Those who never give up treat each mistake as a lesson and learn from them. They imagine mistake as another rung in a ladder that they can step on to reach the top and achieve their goals.

The difference between success and failure is just a proper mindset.
