Is Diet Coke Bad for You-How About Other Diet Soda

There exists thousands of liters of soda or pop that are consumed each day. From school cafeterias, offices, restaurants and fast food centers, sodas of any brand and type is served. They can even be considered as one of the most accessible beverages available for consumption by any age group. So, is diet Coke bad for you...or is any other diet soda bad to consume?
Soda is also one of the most contributing factors in overweight problems. With its deadly cocktail of chemicals that are mainly responsible for health problems that are directly and indirectly related to being overweight, this carbonated drink is still one of the most consumed beverages in the entire world.
However, with the rise of health conscious and fitness fanatics, soda companies also adapted to the demands of the times by producing a diet soda that claims to have less sugar and is good for dieters. There are even claims that diet sodas can greatly aid in losing weight. Diet sodas, along with salad, vegetables and lean meats can often be seen as the choice of food for the fitness fanatic.
Is there, however, any truth to these claims that diet Coke or sodas are good for burning body fat? Or to its claim that diet soda is safer compared to drinking regular soda? Here are the facts:
Drinking diet soda has no effect whatsoever when it comes to reducing body fact and aiding the body to lose weight. In fact, a study showed that you are better off drinking a regular soda than a diet soda as drinking diet soda can make you even fatter. Drinking diet soda can also drastically increase the probability of obesity compared to drinking regular soda, according to a study conducted by the University of Texas for 8 years.
No, wait a minute, why name a diet soda “diet soda” when in fact it can make someone even fatter compared to a regular soda. Should it not be named a aname like a “sure-way-to-be-obese” soda?
Diet sodas contain artificial sweeteners that have negative effect on our bodies by increasing the hormones that are responsible for fat storing thus increasing the desire for more sweet foods after drinking them. The less sugar in the label is of course true but what it does not say on its can is that you will end up drinking more and more diet sodas compared to regular ones.
One of the more obvious reasons why even the most dedicated fitness fanatic drinks diet sodas is the word ‘diet’ itself. With the marketing and advertising strategies of soda companies, our mind is conditioned to think that anything that has the word ‘diet’ on its label is good for the health.
So the best thing to do is to avoid drinking sodas at all. Of course, an occasional can or bottle does no harm but regular consumption of sodas whether may it be the regular type or the diet kind is a sure way to walk the road traveled by overweight and obese people. The key here is loving your body by not recklessly and relentlessly shoving food into your mouth.
