Motivation – The Key to Reduce Body Fat
It is pretty hard to accomplish even a simple task without motivation. Motivation is what drives you to run a mile more, swim a lap more, lift heavier weights and follow your diet plans rigorously. You may be a member of the most expensive and state-of-the-art fitness gym but without being motivated you will still have that same love handle, fat gut and double chin after spending thousands of dollars in gym memberships. Motivation is vital in all aspects of your fitness program from the physical exercises to the diet program.
Following, you will find some tips for motivating your body fat reducing efforts.
1--Nothing would motivate you more in losing that body fat than a picture of yourself that clearly exhibits your fat assets. At the beginning of a fitness program, take a picture of yourself and stick it on your gym locker. After a couple of months take another picture of yourself and post it right next to the one you took at the beginning of the program.
When your fitness program ends or is about to end, take another picture and post it right next to the other two pictures you took earlier. This is like a before-and-after thing that you could do to motivate yourself from loosing fat.
2-- One way to motivate yourself into reducing body fat is by not giving yourself a hard time. No, I do not mean that you eat whatever you like then or exercise only when you feel like doing it.
Most of the things that we do in life are 90% mental. If you do not think it is hard then it will not be not hard. If you do not think that losing weight is impossible then you will probably sport a new, healthy and fit look just in time for the beach season. Adapt your lifestyle to your fitness goals.
3--If you aim to look exactly like the fitness model that is on the cover of the latest issue of your favorite fitness mag then you will most probably be in for a disappointment. Set a goal that is within your reach and set not just one major goal but a couple of minor goals.
For example, set a goal of losing 24 pounds in 1 year and each month for twelve months set a goal of losing 2 pounds. In this way you can see the changes that your fitness program does to your body. Even a little change will be enough to motivate you to keep on losing body fat.
4--The emergence of special groups like AA's helped a lot to get out of the deep hole of alcoholism. In a way, the principle of this special group can be applied too in trying to lose body fat.
If you acknowledge that you cannot do it all by yourself and you need help to encourage, guide and motivate you then you will most likely succeed in completing your fitness program. Get a partner to share your goals.
Don't do it alone. Find a friend to buddy up with to stay motivated.
5) Take a mini-vacation from all the exercising and dieting. At least once a week enjoy the food that you love and be lazy as long as you do it within manageable bounds.
6) Imagine yourself when you are old. Are you going to be a fat, dependent and bed-ridden man in your elder years or do you desire to be independent, mobile and healthy? Ask this question to yourself and the answer will most probably be motivation enough to lose that body fat.
